What happens after when our beloved are no longer with us?
What kind of act of remembrance can we practice to empower ourselves to continue our existence together with them?
On the 1st of November each year, in many cultures it is believed that the beloved ones who have left this world come back to reunite with us, and together we can celebrate a day with food, drink, and dance.
This is a special celebration as an act of remembrance. In this event, we will cook ancestral recipes from traditions across different cultures that connect food and ancestrality. By sharing food, drink and dance, we also share stories of remembrance, in resistance to systematic oblivion imposed on us by the colonial / patriarchal society. This will allow us to begin to grasp the different relations we have with the world, so we can start weaving them together.
